MAE.SUN, alternately known as Hailey Niswanger, is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and composer. In 2016, Hailey started branching out from her jazz roots and, through meditation, began to channel music inspired by many influences and sounds. “My music started to come from a place that felt so much more than just ‘me’. I wanted to depart from my birth-given name and put music out under a new moniker. MAE is my middle name, and SUN, was chosen from inspiring words by a Vietnamese Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh, who said, “The sun is our second heart…[the] great heart outside of our body.” Essentially, our universal, collective heart. MAE.SUN’s music is mindful and eclectic, pushing boundaries and defying genres. Her music taps into the collective consciousness, serving as an engaging mediation for all. She can be primarily heard playing her saxophones, flute, and singing, MAE.SUN also plays clarinet, piano, and guitar. MAE.SUN’s cosmic debut album ‘Vol. 1: Inter-be’ was released in 2017, followed by ‘Vol. 2: Into The Flow’ in 2019. Vol. 3 is set to be released in 2023.

Portland, Oregon’s Graham Jonson started building his musical universe early: playing piano as a toddler, finding the music of J Dilla in fifth grade, and self-releasing singles by age 16. First appearing under the name quickly, quickly in 2017, his project’s profile has since grown fervently with fans in the ‘chill beats’-oriented corners of SoundCloud, YouTube, and Reddit. Showcased on the self-released quickly, quickly vol. 1 and developed further with 2018’s Paths (Radio Juicy) and Over Skies (Jakarta Records), his style as an electronic producer is smooth and hypnotic, fusing elements of jazz, hip hop, and R&B. Reference points range from the Stones Throw catalog to Bobby Hutcherson’s cosmic freeform to Lô Borges’ Brazilian bops. Jonson signed to Ghostly International in 2021, reinventing the project as a full-fledged songwriter, vocalist, and arranger, playing nearly everything from drums to keys and guitar, and of course electronics.
