Michael Dickman, Ross Gay, Karen Russell, John Freeman

Three books that find the extraordinary in the ordinary. Award-winning poet Michael Dickman’s new collection, Days & Days, is an exhilarating and far-ranging mediation on days and how we live in them in the 21st century. Pulitzer finalist Karen Russell’s comedic genius and mesmerizing talent for creating outlandish predicaments that uncannily mirror our inner lives is on full display in the eight stories of Orange World. Ross Gay’s Book of Delights is a genre-defying book of essays that record the small joys that occurred in one year, from birthday to birthday, and that we often overlook in our busy lives. Moderated by John Freeman, editor of Freeman’s and author of The Dictionary of Undoing.

Presented by the 2019 Portland Book Festival.
