Young the Giant with Milky Chance

American Bollywood, Young the Giant’s fifth studio album and the first since 2018’s Mirror Master, is structured after the ancient Sanskrit Hindu text of The Mahabharata (part of the Bhagavad Gita). The band’s frontman and creative force, Sameer Gadhia, learned about those tales through the Mumbai-based Amar Chitra Katha comic books/graphic novels with their serialized depiction of religious legends, folklore and epic poems. That nexus of the ancient/classical and modern/art-pop culture is at the heart of American Bollywood’s various threads and subtexts.
German duo Milky Chance is known for hooky, laid-back pop-touching folk, reggae, and electronic sounds. They initially broke through with their 2013 full-length debut, Sadnecessary, which included the chart-topping single "Stolen Dance." The album earned them two Echo Award nominations and paved the way for 2015's Blossom and 2019's Mind the Moon. In early 2021 and 2022, respectively, the band offered up the compilation albums Trip Tape and Trip Tape II, both of which contained a series of covers and remixes.
