Check your watch – it’s probably happy hour at some of Portland’s favorite bars and restaurants.
Portland’s Happy Hour Guidebook includes more than 500 locations, so if you sense it’s five-o-clock somewhere, the city almost certainly has you covered. Here are just a handful of our favorites.
Luc Lac Vietnamese Kitchen
Luc Lac is a hip, casual Vietnamese kitchen near Waterfront Park boasts Asian-inspired cocktails like the Sassy Sour, spiked with kaffir lime leaf syrup. And come hungry: Luc Lac offers 20 plates, like papaya salad and fresh spring rolls, for $3 or less.
Happy hour 4-7 p.m. daily.
Portland City Grill
Set on the 30th floor of Portland’s iconic US Bancorp Tower (a.k.a. “Big Pink”), Portland City Grill is a downtown destination boasting sweeping city and mountain views and accolades like being named one of “America’s 100 Best Wine Restaurants” in 2012 by Wine Enthusiast magazine. Standout dishes priced under $10 include seared oven-roasted salmon cakes, Kung Pao Calamari and a grilled New York steak sandwich.
Happy hour 4-7 p.m. and 9 p.m.-close Mon.–Sat., noon-11 p.m. Sun.
Driftwood Room
Tucked away inside the boutique Hotel deLuxe, this intimate space sports a Rat Pack vibe true to its 1950s origins. At the Driftwood Room, you can sample a good selection of Oregon spirits, including the Clear Creek pear brandy and pear liqueur found in the signature Portland ’85 cocktail.

Clyde Common
Clyde Common‘s happy hour spotlights eats from juicy hamburgers with jalapeno relish to house-made charcuterie boards, and cocktails from world-class bartender Jeffrey Morgenthaler. Happy hour 3-6 p.m. daily.
Slow Bar
The rock-‘n’-roll hideout Slow Bar serves arguably the best burger in the city for just $5, with a trove of other divey (but farm-fresh) snacks and cocktails for $1 off.
