Rose City Certified is a free online training available to anyone who serves visitors to Portland. You’ll learn what to see and do in Portland, how to navigate the city, get pointers on how to handle difficult conversations with guests, how to welcome guests of all cultures and abilities, and more.
Rose City Certified is a one-hour training program for frontline hospitality workers and others who regularly interact with visitors.
The curriculum is perfect for hotel front desk and concierge staff, rideshare drivers, retail and restaurant workers, tour guides, museum and attraction staff and more. It contains a mix of videos, written instructions and interactive activities on five topics:
- Initiating welcoming conversations
- Things to see and do in Portland
- Navigating Portland
- Talking about Portland-specific issues
- Cultural competencies, accessibility and EDI
BONUS: Participants who complete the course will receive a certificate of completion and a commemorative lapel pin.
