Registration is now open for Go West Summit, which returns to Portland in 2020 for the first time in 13 years. Focusing on 16 states representing the American West, this annual conference brings together tourism product suppliers and international tour operators for several days of business-to-business meetings, networking, familiarization trips and special activities — all with the goal of highlighting the destination for future tourism business.
Go West attendees can meet with more than 200 top tour buyers at the Oregon Convention Center from March 24–27. The four-day event will feature several marketplaces (for 12-minute, one-on-one, pre-scheduled appointments) and speed appointments (where suppliers can meet with buyers for 5-minute, non-scheduled appointments).
In partnership with the Portland Region, Travel Portland has planned five different “Adventure Days” that get attendees outside of the convention center and exploring the city and region. Options include a “Portlander For a Day” adventure (in which participants fix a trail in Forest Park, visit the Portland Audubon Society and unwind at DIY Bar, a craft workshop and watering hole) and a day-long road trip to some of the city’s most beautiful regional attractions (including nearby wine country and the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center in Oregon City). In addition, Travel Oregon is planning multiple pre- and post-familiarization trips for tour buyers to experience more of the state.
