Travel Portland published its annual visitors guide in January, featuring over 100 pages of the best things to see, do and experience in Portland any time of year. Published in partnership with SagaCity Media, this year’s guide embodies Travel Portland’s new brand and features unique designs; eye-catching, full-bleed photography; content produced by local writers and photographers of color; and a greater focus on the city’s many diverse neighborhoods. The guide’s departments have been condensed into a simpler system of things to “see,” “taste” and “do.”
“Research shows most guides are used by people who have already planned a trip or are in the city, so we redesigned the guide with a greater emphasis on neighborhood coverage that visitors can use on the ground,” says Karen Martwick, Travel Portland’s Director of Content Strategy. “The guide’s content also reflects our commitment to destination management and diversity; 57% of our contributors are people of color and 55% of photographs of people in the guide feature people of color.”
Travel Portland’s visitors guide is free and available to order or view on Travel Portland’s website. The guides are also distributed at local hotels, our Visitor Center, Portland International Airport, the Oregon Convention Center and on ferries in Seattle and Victoria, B.C.
