End your week with a live sing-along of alt-indie, pop, and rock songs with our friends at Low Bar Chorale, led by Ben Landsverk.

The Low Bar Chorale is a twice-a-month extravaganza that transforms a local bar into a drop-in sing-along backed by a live band of rotating musicians from Blind Pilot to Brandi Carlisle’s band, and no one cares what you sound like. Jointly founded and run by Music Director/Producer Ben Landsverk and Impresaria/Producer Kate Sokoloff, the group has sung more than 200 songs in bars and stages all over Portland. With no experience and no commitments required, it’s a perfect fit for anyone from show choir megastars to the “karaoke scares the crap out of me” crowd. All tips (Venmo: @ben-landsverk) will go to the out-of-work band. Archived video not available.

🎵 Ashleigh Flynn and the Riveters – April 18

Ashleigh Flynn and the Riveters

Ashleigh Flynn is a singer, songwriter and musician who grew up in Kentucky and cut her teeth on local bluegrass music and Motown. During this 1-hour performance she will play acoustic versions of some of her and her fans’ favorite Americana, rock, bluegrass and country songs on guitar accompanied by the harmonica. This set will be uplifting, heartfelt and reminiscent of a living room jam session where everyone comes together to listen, relax, unwind and sing along to some classic songs. All proceeds from the virtual tip jar will help fund the next Ashleigh Flynn and the Riveters album. Archived video not available.

🎵 Dead Lee – April 9

Screenshot from Portland band Dead Lee’s #TelePortland video takeover.

Portland-based cosmic-Americana-folk duo Dead Lee formed in 2017 when Brian Adrian Koch (current and founding member of indie-rock band Blitzen Trapper) and partner, singer-songwriter Kara Harris, started singing together in their apartment. They soon branched out to playing for friends at parties, special events and tribute nights before deciding to take their love of singing and playing together more seriously. For the last year and a half they’ve been playing all over the Pacific Northwest, as well as Puerto Rico, Ireland and Western Europe. Their sound has been described as “Dolly Parton meets Elliott Smith in space” and they’re okay with that. Contribute to Dead Lee’s virtual tip jar by searching for deadleeduo@gmail.com on Venmo or PayPal.
