Whether you’re craving a woodland adventure, urban exploration or just a great roadside view as you travel across the country with your trailer, Portland has it all. If you’re planning on rolling through town in your motor coach, here are some handy nearby places for you to set up camp.

In Portland

Jantzen Beach RV Park

Hayden Island’s Jantzen Beach has long been a destination for summer fun. The Jantzen Beach RV Park continues that tradition for the motor home camping scene, offering a heated pool, game room, clubhouse, fitness center and free Wi-Fi. Only 7 miles (11 km) north of downtown, your exploration of Portland is just a quick ride on the MAX Light Rail(Yellow line) away.

Columbia River RV Park

If island camping isn’t for you, the Columbia River RV Park offers a nearby alternative. Located along Northeast Marine Drive, RV drivers can take in the sailboats of the local marinas, enjoy a round of golf or take advantage of nearby shopping venues. To explore downtown, simply hop on the TriMet bus 6; all of Portland’s parks, museums and attractions are less than an hour away.

Fox Run RV Park

The Fox Run RV Park offers fewer amenities for RV travelers than its competitors, but it is a bit closer to downtown Portland. Just a 6 mile (10 km) drive or TriMet ride (route 6) and you’re in the center of it all.

Tall Firs RV Park

Located just north of beautiful Powell Butte Park in Southeast Portland, Tall Firs RV Park is 9 miles (14.5 km) west of downtown and offers an alternative neighborhood to park your motorcoach this summer. RVers can take advantage of the great hiking and biking trails the Butte has to offer, or hop on the bus (routes FX2 or 9) to be downtown within an hour.
