Once a sleepy thoroughfare, Southeast Division Street is now one of Portland’s most dynamic and stylish neighborhoods. Spend a day wandering its many blocks, stopping along the way to snack, sip and shop.

Stumptown Coffee Roasters

Start your morning at the world’s first Stumptown Coffee location. The Portland-born brand now stocks coolers across the country with stubby bottles of cold brew, but you can score serious OG cred by taking a selfie with a frothy cappuccino at this pioneering café.

Little T American Baker

Named one of Travel + Leisure’s favorite bakeries in the world, Little T offers a mouthwatering selection of treats like apricot rosemary bars, sea salt brownies and walnut-citrus spice cakes. Those seeking a more substantial breakfast can nosh on croissant breakfast sandwiches or a gooey Croque Madame.

Carter & Rose

Two best friends, a ceramicist and a florist, founded this adorably twee gift shop specializing in air plant wall planters. Patrons can also peruse a selection of made-in-Portland bags, jewelry and home goods.

Little Otsu

This eco-friendly independent publisher uses 100% recycled paper for its collection of illustrated books and paper goods. The mostly Internet-based business maintains this single retail shop stocked with colorful posters, calendars, cards and notebooks.

Townshend’s Tea Company

Flickering candles keep cups warm at this cozy local teashop. Take a sniff of more than 100 loose leaf blends on Townshend’s epic tea wall and pick your favorite, or opt for a custom bubble tea or draft kombucha before sinking into a plush couch for a bit of blissful relaxation.

Adorn

Chic women of all ages browse Northwest fashions with the help of friendly personal stylists at Portland boutique Adorn. The locally-owned shop is stocked with dresses, outwear and jewelry from dozens of tasteful brands, including a comprehensive collection of Prairie Underground pieces.

Nationale

Peek inside this tiny art gallery to find a rotating exhibition of work by talented Northwest visual artists such as Carson Ellis and Amy Bernstein. A “merchants in residence” program allows visitors to shop for fabulous art while learning more about the artists’ background and inspirations. Each purchase also comes complete with a complimentary mix tape.

Whiskey Soda Lounge

Division Street is home to Thai eatery Pok Pok, one of the city’s most celebrated dining destinations. But if you’d rather skip the long lines, take a seat a block away at sister bar Whiskey Soda Lounge, where you can snack on Chef Andy Ricker’s award-winning drinking snacks and sip an Asian-influenced cocktail or choice whiskey.

Ava Gene’s

Plan ahead to score reservations at this award-winning Italian restaurant helmed by Chef Joshua McFadden, whose legendary kale salad has drawn raves from The New York Times. If you’re dining on the fly, opt for sophisticated Oaxacan moles at Xico or a spread of Indian street snacks at lively Bollywood Theater.

Southeast Wine Collective

End your evening on a sweet note with a trip to Portland’s trailblazing scoop shop. The artisanal ice cream makers at Salt & Straw delight in experimenting with peculiar ingredients such as olive oil, blue cheese and spring flowers, but visitors can always play it safe with Double Fold Vanilla or Freckled Woodblock Chocolate.
