Downtown Walk Score of 96 out of 100

With a walk score of 96 out of 100 (rated by Walk Score), Portland’s compact downtown is easily navigated by foot. The 200-foot-long blocks also make for a pedestrian-friendly experience (compared to Manhattan’s 600-800 foot-long blocks).

This means a compact city where rideshare is optional instead of mandatory.

It also means easy walking access to great food, tax-free shopping, music venues, breweries, and city green spaces.

Forest Bathing. It’s a Pacific Northwest Thing.

While residents enjoy 12,591 acres of public parks within city limits, what about conference attendees who are staying in the city center?

Attendees will find green spaces downtown. For an authentic Portland experience, hop on the TriMet MAX Light Rail to the Washington Park exit, a 15-minute light rail ride from the convention center, to emerge at the World Forestry Center and the Oregon Zoo.

From here, you can wander into a forest of firs, maples, and evergreens. Try forest bathing – simply relaxing and soaking up the forest atmosphere in nature.
