The Museum of World Athletics, MOWA, will be held at Pioneer Place from Friday, April 8, through Sunday, July 25, celebrating the athletes of track and field and the World Athletics Championships Oregon22. The championships will be held in the U.S. for the first time at legendary Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. Athletics, called track and field in the U.S., is one of the most popular Olympic sports in the world.
MOWA is the first sports museum to be established solely in the digital world. It offers visitors an interactive journey through the history of athletics and the sport’s flagship World Athletics Championships, highlighting many legends of the sport.
The museum exhibit at Pioneer Place, located on the lower level of the rotunda building, will feature items donated by legendary U.S. and international athletes.
This will be the larger of the two exhibits in Oregon and will be the only one open for more than three months. Visitors and locals alike will enjoy this free attraction in downtown Portland.
