Mandala Creation by Tibetan Monks
The following description was submitted by the event organizer.
Maitripa College welcomes the Ganden Shartse Monks as part of their Sacred Harmony 2026 World Peace Tour for a week of Medicine Buddha Mandala creation and healing rituals.
Rooted in the classical Tibetan Buddhist medical and ritual traditions, this visit offers a rare opportunity to witness—and participate in—a living lineage of healing practice. Over several days, the monks will create a traditional Medicine Buddha sand mandala, an intricate sacred geometry representing the awakened healing mind and the interdependent nature of wellbeing.
The mandala is not an object for display, but a ritual field—a space generated through mantra, mudra, visualization, and disciplined attention. As the mandala takes form, it becomes a container for prayer and intention dedicated to the healing of physical illness, emotional suffering, environmental imbalance, and collective trauma.
