Willamette Riverkeeper is excited to bring the Wild and Scenic Film Festival to Portland’s iconic Hollywood Theatre to celebrate the wonder of the natural world and inspire action to protect it.

Since 1996, Willamette Riverkeeper’s mission has been to protect, restore, and celebrate the Willamette River. This festival was started by the watershed advocacy group SYRCL to commemorate a landmark victory claiming “Wild and Scenic” status for 39 miles of the South Yuba River. Join a network of grassroots organizations connected by the common goal of using art to inspire environmental activism.

This year’s curated film selections spotlight joy, community, and the shared stewardship of the waterways across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. All proceeds benefit Willamette Riverkeeper, supporting the work to stand as the voice of the Willamette River and its tributaries through advocacy, science, and community engagement. With support from national sponsors Earthjustice, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, Nia, and HHMI Tangled Bank Studios and local sponsors across the Willamette Basin, this year’s Portland edition of the festival promises a fun, impactful, and community-driven event.

Please join an evening of celebration, inspiration, and connection to support a thriving, resilient Willamette River–one that continues to flow clean and full of life for generations to come.
