The Portland School of Composition has returned for its second round. Challenged by Oregon ArtsWatch to look inward, the organization is asking what truly defines a place, a school, or a center for composition—and what such concepts even mean.
While the question may not have a single answer, the group continues to explore it through the primary element that builds community: music written by local composers and performed by local musicians.
