The following description was submitted by the event organizer.

SamFest, a festival celebrating the work of the late Oregon playwright William S. Gregory (known to all as Sam), will feature staged readings of CoHo Productions’ smash hit, Mary Tudor (Henry VIII’s elder daughter), as well as 10 never-before-produced plays found on Sam’s laptop after his death. The purpose of SamFest is to bring to the attention of audiences in Portland, and beyond, the work of a singularly talented writer whose rich language and sharp wit recall Oscar Wilde, George Bernard Shaw, and even Shakespeare — all of whom, by happy coincidence, appear as characters within plays featured in the festival.
