The following description was submitted by the event organizer.

BOLD is thrilled to host a reading with Dede Montgomery, author of A Map of Her Own, in conversation with Carolyn Dasher, author of American Sky.

Dede will introduce her new book, discussing what motivated its writing, how she approached writing a dual timeline book, and the process of carrying on characters (Celia and Paul from Humanity’s Grace) from a prior book. She will give a short reading and invite discussion and Q&A along with fellow author Carolyn Dasher.

Dede Montgomery is a 6th generation Oregonian, published author and Safety and Health Professional. She is a thoughtful and introspective author whose work blends personal narrative, historical reflection, and social awareness. Dede often writes with a deep connection to place, particularly the Pacific Northwest.

Carolyn Dasher is the author of American Sky, a novel about love and war, family secrets, and mothers and daughters finding the freedom to fly. Her short fiction has appeared in Sunspot Literary Journal and is forthcoming at Terrain.org. She lives in Portland, Oregon, where she’s hard at work on her next book.
