Restorative Rhythms: A Community Concert and Restorative Justice
The following description was submitted by the event organizer.
Join an evening celebrating community, music, and restorative justice organized by Emarrion Thomas and supported by the Portland Community Justice Partnership and Friends of Noise.
What if justice looked like accountability and healing instead of a punitive process? That’s the vision behind Restorative Rhythms. Through the Portland Community Justice Partnership, cases can be diverted from the criminal justice system to a process where responsible parties take accountability, harmed parties share their needs, and together they create a plan for repair. Emarrion Thomas experienced this transformative process and is now hosting this event to give back and inspire the community. “My hope is that this gathering plants seeds for more healing, more compassion, and more community-driven solutions in Portland.”
Come for the live hip hop performances. Stay for the community. Leave inspired by what restorative justice can look like in Portland.
