Winter Tree Medicine
The following description was submitted by the event organizer.
Welcome winter and the longest nights by learning about the wintry medicine of Pacific Northwest trees in this seasonal plant circle. To celebrate the magic and depth of the Wintertime season, delve into the medicinal properties, ecological roles, and historical ethnobotanical uses of cottonwood, red alder, and spruce, and how these wise beings support bodies and hearts in the darkest days, as well as consider how to relate to these plants in the living ecosystems.
This class is for green witches, plant people, and anyone seeking a deeper connection to the land, plants, and the medicine of the green world. Whether you are looking to build your own home apothecary for the apocalypse or trying to connect with plants because you’re tired of people.
Together, make a bath salt blend with these plants in class. (Please bring a jar; salt and herbs will be provided.)
Come away from our time with a deeper, more empowered connection to the wisdom of the trees, with hands-on experience of blending healing bath salts for you to take home and enjoy, and with deeper connections to other magical humans.
Make sure to bring:
- A jar
- A pen and paper for note-taking
- Whatever else you need to get comfy and sink into pleasure.
Please arrive a little early to allow time for settling in. Doors will be locked 10 minutes after class starts. Please keep this in mind while making travel arrangements.
This gathering takes place in Seagrape’s kitchen, which is through a winding hallway that is not big enough for a wheelchair. The door to enter the kitchen is located on the narrow side, with thresholds that rise 4 or 5 inches off the ground.
You will be asked to wear your mask throughout class. If you’re experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms prior to the gathering, please do not attend.
