DANNI LEE: “TRUTH TELLER” ALBUM RELEASE SHOW

On Saturday, October 9, celebrated local singer-songwriter Danni Lee takes the stage for a connective reckoning of hard truths and beautiful awakenings in her latest album release concert, “Truth Teller,” live at the Old Church in Portland, Oregon. The evening will also include Pulitzer Prize-winning composer/performer Caroline Shaw who is featured on the album and will join Lee for a number of songs.
“Truth Teller” was conceived after Lee received a cancer diagnosis while quarantining during the pandemic. She began using her music as a way to confront and befriend the demons of her past as well as prepare for her upcoming surgery, which will take place soon after the concert. Of the album, Lee shares, “Receiving a scary medical diagnosis was a real gut punch for me and writing the music for “Truth Teller” took me deeply to the heart of what matters. It felt at times as if I was living on the edge of my own brain; the liminal space right between still here and completely gone. This album taught me to make room for myself – cancer and all – and honestly listen to the lessons it has to offer. We all can be truth tellers. My hope is that listeners will feel inspired to explore their own shadows, to be braver, and take more risks.”
