Crossing the Channel: Immigrant Composers in London
The following description was submitted by the event organizer.
18th century London was one of Europe’s great cultural capitals, thanks in part to a tide of immigrant composers. In Crossing the Channel, guest director and harpsichordist Avi Stein explores the music of these new arrivals alongside English-born composers seeking to emulate the sounds of the continent.
Sunday concert held in Kaul Auditorium on Reed College's campus.
