Portland’s most lively, joyous outdoor event of the winter season is waiting right around the corner. Tuesday, February 25th, the Mysti Krewe of Nimbus will lead their annual Mardi Gras Parade on Mississippi Avenue. It’s a free, family-friendly event celebrating Mardi Gras Day.

This year’s Parade features its biggest lineup ever, with marching bands, dance groups, performance artists, jugglers, and more. Honorary Grand Marshal is Paul Knauls Sr., the legendary icon and “Mayor” of Northeast Portland. Joining Sir Paul will be the newly elected MKON King and Queen, the Lagniappe Line, Pirates of Portlandia, Time Travelers Costume Guild, Rose City Rollers, Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, and the Portland Skyliners Tall Club.

The Mysti Krewe of Nimbus, Portland’s only authentic Mardi Gras krewe, will hand out beads and a limited number of hand-decorated mini umbrella 'signature throws' along the parade route.

Parade watchers are invited to join the parade behind the Second Line. Joiners should dress up and follow the Second Line banner.
