Once a well-kept secret, Wapato Access Greenway State Park, has grown in popularity in recent years. One of the park’s most interesting features is the seasonal Virginia Lake, which is rich with abundant and extraordinary birds in winter. There are two bird watching viewpoint platforms around the lake, and over 250 species of birds can be seen throughout the year. Conditions fluctuate with the seasons and migratory patterns. Late winter and early spring are excellent for viewing waterfowl.
