Seaside is Oregon’s first seashore resort and remains a popular year-round vacation and weekend destination, located just 90 minutes from Portland. Major attractions include our charming 1.5 mile beachfront Promenade and a historic aquarium opened in 1937. Seaside is the ideal playground for kids and the young-at-heart: we’ve got arcades, bumper cars, ice cream, a shooting gallery and 171 flavors of saltwater taffy and counting. What brings people back again and again is the community: great restaurants, cutting-edge bakeries, cozy bookstores, brimming antique shops, creative galleries, historic properties and more. Best of all, it’s walkable and bikeable, and some people even kayak around. Call or stop by the Visitors Bureau for questions or tips on what to do during your stay.

  • The Tillamook Head trail from Seaside to Cannon Beach offers incredible views of Tillamook Rock Lighthouse amidst an old-growth rain forest.
  • The Necanicum Estuary in Seaside is an ideal spot for a spring, summer or winter paddle.
