The former site of a Camp Fire Boys and Girls camp, Lowami Hart Woods is a forested island in the middle of Beaverton. The park is bisected by South Johnson Creek, separating an upland conifer forest on the east from a mixed conifer-deciduous forest on the west. The 31 acres forest can be accessed by half-mile unpaved trail system near the intersection of SW Hart Blvd. and SW Murray Blvd. in Beaverton. Most of the park is covered with a forest of 90-year-old Douglas fir trees on steep slopes bordering the fast flowing creek. Pacific madrone and Oregon white oak can be found where there is more sun, and the riparian corridor is vegetated with Oregon ash and slough sedge.
