PQ Monthly
Know Before You Go
This section was produced in collaboration with PQ Monthly, dedicated to serving the LGBTQ+ communities of Oregon, Washington and the Bay Area. PQ Monthly is published on the third Thursday of every month and updated daily online.
Portland has a plethora of LGBTQ publications, organizations and businesses in various neighborhoods to serve the diverse queer community.

Portland’s Gay Yellow Pages
Portland’s Gay Yellow Pages is a publication and website that lists Portland area businesses that welcome the LGBTQ+ community with open arms.
Organizations
Basic Rights Oregon
Basic Rights Oregon is dedicated to winning marriage equality, fighting for transgender rights, and promoting racial justice.
Bradley Angle
The oldest domestic violence shelter on the West Coast, Bradley Angle is also the only agency in Portland that provides culturally-specific services for LGBTQ+ survivors.
Cascade AIDS Project
Cascade Aids Project is an HIV/AIDS organization dedicated to prevention, support and the elimination of stigma. The project also runs Pivot, a drop-in space for gay, bisexual and transgender men.
Dykes on Bikes
Dykes on Bikes supports philanthropic endeavors in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and women’s communities and beyond, and reaches out to empower a community of diverse women through rides, charity events, Pride events and education.
Equity Foundation
The Equity Foundation supports the LGBTQ+ community by providing grants and scholarships.
Human Rights Campaign (Portland Steering Committee)
Portland’s all-volunteer chapter of HRC hosts events throughout the year to raise awareness (and funds) for the fight for LGBTQ+ equality.
Northwest Gender Alliance
NWGA provides support and social opportunities for transgender, transsexual and cross-dressing individuals as well as education on trans issues for the community.
Our House
Our House provides healthcare, housing and other vital services to low-income people living with HIV/AIDS.
Outside In
Founded in 1968, Outside In is a social service organization that helps homeless youth and other marginalized individuals (such as LGBTQ+ people) attain health and self-sufficiency.
Pride Foundation
Pride Foundation supports LGBTQ+ equality in Oregon. Building on its first Oregon grant awarded in 1991 supporting the development of LGBTQ+-focused domestic violence services, Pride Foundation has been growing support for local Oregon organizations and scholars thanks to donors and volunteers.
Portland Area Business Association (PABA)
PABA serves as the LGBTQ+ chamber of commerce for businesses in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
Q Center
The Q Center is dedicated to creating a safe space for all LGBTQ+ people that celebrates diversity, visibility and community-building through a wide range of events, workshops, support services and advocacy work.
SMYRC
The Sexual Minority Youth Recreation Center (SMYRC) provides a safe, supervised, harassment-free space for sexual and gender minority youth ages 13-23 who participate in positive activities like art, music, community organizing, open mic nights, drag shows, and support groups and receive services including case management, counseling, education, and more.
