Voted America’s Best Airport seven years in a row by Travel + Leisure, Portland International Airport (PDX)  continues getting better and better. In particularly Portland fashion, hungry travelers can enjoy the city’s famous street food by visiting food carts stationed right in the terminal.

PDX’s food cart pod is located in the main terminal’s Clocktower Plaza. The pod houses a rotating lineup of locally owned eateries, including outposts of some of Portland’s most famous food carts and dining destinations. The most recent carts at PDX include vegan- and vegetarian-friendly Indian eatery Maruti; sushi burrito maker Sumo Sushi and family-run Mike’s Backyard Burgers.

“Our food cart program is a great opportunity for small businesses to gain exposure in the community while giving PDX travelers an authentic street scene experience,” says Shane Andreasen of the Port of Portland. And, like all vendors at PDX, the carts’ offerings come with no markups — all prices are the same as you’ll find outside the airport.

Still hungry? Travelers can find plenty of pre- and post-security dining options throughout the airport (see a full list here).
