As part of Travel Portland’s commitment to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion within our destination, we are changing the format of our June Lunch & Learn to cover a topic we feel is very important.
The Oregon Historical Society has designated two opportunities for the hospitality and tourism industry to explore their current Racing to Change and History Hub exhibits. As a part of the program, participants will deepen their knowledge of Oregon’s racial history and hear from a member of Oregon Black Pioneers.
Over the next year, Travel Portland will provide a series of industry trainings to help address implicit bias, promote conscious inclusion, prevent discrimination and ensure that visitors feel welcome. The initial focus will be building awareness of the history of marginalized and underserved communities in Portland and throughout Oregon. We invite you to join us on our journey to make Portland a welcoming destination for all communities.
A light lunch will be provided.
