Multnomah County, where Portland is located, is in the “High Risk” category, meaning that indoor and outdoor recreational and entertainment facilities are allowed to operate, with restrictions. This applies to theaters, arenas, concert halls, gardens, museums and more.
Many attractions listed here are temporarily closed while Portland remains in the “High Risk” category. Please visit individual attractions’ websites for additional status information.

Architectural Heritage Center – CLOSED
The Architectural Heritage Center is currently closed.
The Grotto – OPEN

The Grotto grounds, gardens and gift shop are all currently open.
International Rose Test Garden – OPEN

Portland’s acclaimed International Rose Test Garden has remained open throughout the pandemic.
Lan Su Chinese Garden – OPEN

One of Portland’s iconic attractions, the Lan Su Chinese Garden, is open. Please plan ahead before you visit as timed ticket reservations are required and the garden offers a limited number of tickets per day. Parties are limited to 6 people per group due to the current state mandate on group sizes.
Leach Botanical Garden – OPEN
Leach Botanical Garden is open; timed tickets can be purchased in advance online.
Oregon Historical Society – CLOSED

The Oregon Historical Society is currently closed.
Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education – CLOSED

The Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education is currently closed, but you can find virtual exhibits and programing on OJMCHE’s website.
Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) – CLOSED

Popular family destination OMSI is currently closed.
Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation – CLOSED

Family favorite Oregon Rail Heritage Center is currently closed.
Oregon Zoo – OPEN

The Oregon Zoo is currently open. Online advance-purchase tickets are required and attendance is limited for each timed-entry period. Physical distancing, one-way paths (see map) through the zoo and masks are enforced. For more information, visit the Oregon Zoo’s website.
Pittock Mansion – OPEN

Historic Pittock Mansion is open and timed tickets can be purchased in advance online.
Portland Art Museum – CLOSED

The Portland Art Museum is currently closed, but the Museum Store is open with limited hours and the Rental Sales Gallery is open by appointment.
Portland Farmers Market – OPEN

Four of the five Portland Farmers Market locations (PSU, Lents, King and Shemanski Park) are open, with special safety procedures in place.
Portland Japanese Garden – OPEN

The Portland Japanese Garden is open with timed entry and other new safety procedures.
Portland Saturday Market – CLOSED

CLOSED FOR THE SEASON. The Portland Saturday Market operated from June 20-Sept. 26, 2020.
Portland Spirit – OPEN

Willamette River cruises aboard the Portland Spirit are currently operating.
Powell’s City of Books – OPEN

Portland’s icon and the world’s largest new and used bookstore, Powell’s City of Books, reopened its doors in downtown Portland on Aug. 21. Hours of operation are limited and some rooms remain closed. Customers have access to select new arrivals, bestsellers, used books, small press, gift items and the literature section in full.
Washington Park – OPEN

Natural areas and trails in Washington Park are open, but many of the major attractions it houses are closed due to current restrictions associated with the “High Risk” category that Portland currently falls under.
