Fall heralds the return of the Portland Queer Film Festival, an annual showcase of short and feature-length narrative and documentary films from around the world. While varied in form and content, the selected films share a marked relevance to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans community, not to mention plenty of industry buzz. The festival returns Sept. 20-26, 2019!

The historic Cinema 21 theater, a Northwest Portland landmark since 1925, serves as festival home base, with screenings spanning a week in October. Get a ticket and catch all the international treasures, celebrity appearances, hometown heroes and more.

Parking is limited in the neighborhood, so it’s recommended to take public transportation to get to the theater. The surrounding neighborhood of Nob Hill in Northwest Portland is full of boutique shops, restaurants and cafes, so arrive a few hours early to explore the area.
