Fall heralds the return of the Portland Queer Film Festival, an annual showcase of short and feature-length narrative and documentary films from around the world. While varied in form and content, the selected films share a marked relevance to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans community, not to mention plenty of industry buzz.
The historic Cinema 21 theater, a Northwest Portland landmark since 1925, serves as festival home base, with screenings spanning a week in October. The 2017 festival returns Sept. 29–Oct. 5, featuring international treasures, celebrity appearances, hometown heroes and more.
