Brides for a Cause

If you’re a socially conscious shopper, you’ll love Brides for a Cause, which raises money for women-centered charities. There are more than 1,000 dresses in stock at any time (donated by high-end salons, designers, manufacturers and individuals nationwide). Spread out with six private fitting rooms, communal seating for large parties and a waiting area for partners and kids. More than half of the gowns at Brides for a Cause are brand-new samples. Dresses are arranged by size (0-28), making it easy to narrow down your options and find “the one.”

The White Dress

Owned by husband-and-wife team Matthew and Amanda Schmalz, this elegant shop offers an extensive collection of designer dresses and accessories. Personalized service includes a sit-down consultation with a bridal stylist, followed by dress selection from the gown closets and assistance in a private suite. Many of the shop’s gowns are exclusive to The White Dress in Oregon.

Lena Medoyeff

It doesn’t get much more local than this glamorous Northwest 23rd Avenue shop owned by designer Lena Medoyeff. Since 1998, the shop has offered brides unique, high-quality gowns, handmade from all- natural silk or 100% cotton and colored with natural vegetable and mineral dyes. Every dress is designed in-house and sewn in Portland with fair-trade fabrics. Renovated in August 2016, the shop features a modern, minimalist aesthetic that lets the dresses take the spotlight.
