Bike and beer events

Miles of bike lanes and dozens of award-winning breweries make bikes and beer a natural Portland pairing.

BrewCycle BrewPub Crawl

Equipped with bumpin’ speakers and groovy tunes, the BrewCycle — a 15-seat party machine — turns pub crawls into a pedal-driven team effort. Each tour includes stops at three popular breweries in the Pearl District, such as Deschutes and Lucky Lab. And while BrewCycles run year-round, September heralds the arrival of autumn ales at breweries across the city.

Handmade Bike & Beer Festival

The Handmade Bike & Beer Festival combines two fall favorites: Oktobeerfest at Hopworks Urban Brewery and the Oregon Bicycle Constructors Association’s Oregon Handmade Bike Show. Sip bike-themed beers from local brewers as you admire the craftsmanship of Oregon’s best custom bicycle builders. The fete also features live music, locally churned ice cream and loads of pizza and local grub.

Hopworks Urban Brewery’s BikeBar

Bikes and beer coexist happily year-round at HUB’s BikeBar in Northeast Portland. Set on one of the city’s busiest cycling corridors, BikeBar has 75 bikes parking spots and features a Plug-Out exercycle, an electricity-generating stationary bike that pumps watts to the grid. Admire the cycle-inspired décor — including an impressive bike frame canopy — then head to the back porch for September’s perfect patio weather and a limited-edition brew, like the crisp Belgian Apple Ale or the hopped-up Ace of Spades Imperial IPA.
