The golf tournament is the major fund-raising activity for the Travel Portland Education & Training Foundation. The Foundation was formed in 1992 and is a charitable 501(c)(3) non-profit subsidiary corporation of Travel Portland. The foundation helps ensure that Oregon and the Pacific Northwest have an adequate number of well-trained, well-educated and versatile visitor industry professionals in the workforce. For the last 18 years, the foundation has supported hospitality school-to-career programs, scholarships to local community colleges and programs that provide educational opportunities for Travel Portland partners.
