Sculpted by the same artist who created the Martin Luther King Jr. Monument,
this depicts a Native American, Clark and his black slave York, who
accompanied the Lewis & Clark Expedition. The sculpture overlooks the
Willamette River on Waud’s Bluff, the farthest known point on the river
reached by the explorers.
