Portland Opera presents Così fan tutte - Portland Opera A deliciously ironic look at the foibles of love. We begin with two sisters, their fiancés, and a bet—Will the women be faithful? “Of course,” brag the men. “Nay,” says the cynical Don Alfonso. Thus we enter a world of disguises and trickery in which the women—and Love itself—are put to the test. And you can bet we’ll be on their side every step of the way! Mozart’s genius turns a farce into a scintillating blend of thought provoking humor.
The perfect opera for those who prefer their laughter sandwiched with a slice of wry. EVENT DAY(S): 02/05/10 - 02/13/10

Third Rail presents American Buffalo One of David Mamet's earliest successes, this comic drama of shifting loyalty, unspoken jealousy, and lurking desperation is considered an American Classic.
Three men living just this side of destitution plan a robbery. The loot is a rare coin collection, but American Buffalo's real currency is language. The dialogue is unmistakably Mamet's: clipped, elliptical, profane, but also poetic and telling.
In the hands of Third Rail's actors and guest director Daniel Stern (Diner, Breaking Away), this will be a dynamite evening of theatre.

PDX Contemporary Art presents Bean Finneran Incidence and Pattern - PDX Contemporary Art I love color and light and the changes light and shadows create. With the sculptures I compose with bright color and form in a space. With its deliberately ‘un-natural’ color, the work celebrates aspects of nature but does not attempt to mimic it.
The constructions are abstract...rings, lines, cones, circles but often evoke real things: sea anemones, coral reefs, haystacks or wind blown grasses.
